Sharon S. Ponder

  

Sharon S. Ponder, a graduate of Georgia Southern University, began her accounting career at Marsh & McLennan Companies. She later was afforded an opportunity to work at Bennett International Group as a Jr. Staff Accountant.  After 21 years of moving up the ranks she currently serves as Vice President of Finance. Although her educational background is in Accounting, Sharon has always had a passion for education and her community. This devotion has led her to be involved in several boards including the Dean’s Advisory Board for the School of Business at Georgia Southern University, the Henry County Library Board and she’s the current Chair-Elect for the 2019 Henry County Chamber of Commerce Board of directors.

Wayne Lowrey

Since arriving in Henry County in 2004, Wayne Lowrey’s name has become known through his leadership at United Community Bank where he currently serves as Executive Vice President. Tied closely to that have been his leadership roles for the Henry County Chamber of Commerce including Treasurer and, most recently, Chair-Elect of the Chamber Board of Directors.  He has served on the Chamber’s Golf Classic Committee for 7 years.

Wayne currently is Co-Chair of the Advance Division for the One Henry Capital Campaign.  A former member of the YMCA Board of Directors, he was named the Henry YMCA 2008 Volunteer of the Year.  He also served on the Board of Directors for Hands of Hope Clinic, which he presided over in 2013. In 2006, Wayne received the Macon State College Foundation Outstanding Alumnus Award.

An active member of McDonough Presbyterian Church, Lowrey is the Church Treasurer, an Elder and a choir member.


Wayne Lowrey is the Commercial Relationship Manager of United Community Bank and the incoming 2018 Chair of the Board of the Henry County Chamber of Commerce.  Wayne brings a tremendous background of servant leadership and community service to the position.  He has already conducted our annual planning conference and will hit the ground running in assisting President David Gill and our outstanding Chamber Staff in representing the over 600 businesses (and individuals) that make up the Chamber membership. The Chamber is proud to welcome Wayne as Chairman of the Board for 2018.
